Issue: Network / Browser Loading Issues

Leading to Failed or Interrupted Exam Access

🔍 Description of the Problem

You may face one or more of these issues while trying to access your exam:

  • The exam page does not load or takes a very long time to load.

  • The exam disconnects frequently or freezes in between.

  • Images, audio, or video content inside the exam fail to display properly.

  • Answers are not submitted or shown as “not saved.”

  • During the compatibility check, the camera may be working on your system but your face is not detected due to unstable internet.

This issue occurs mainly due to unstable internet connectivity or low upload speed. Even if your system camera works, an unstable network can prevent the exam platform from reading your face during the initial compatibility check.

A minimum of 2 MB/sec upload speed is required for smooth exam loading, media display, and face detection during compatibility verification.

âś… Step-by-Step Solution

Important: Always test your internet speed and setup before the exam begins.

For All Users (Windows & macOS)

Check Internet Speed

  • Visit speedtest.net or fast.com.

  • Confirm that your upload speed is at least 2 MB/sec.

  • If it is less, switch to a stronger or backup connection.

Prefer Wired Connection

  • Use a LAN cable for internet instead of Wi-Fi whenever possible.

  • Wired connections reduce latency and ensure better stability.

Improve Wi-Fi Stability

  • Sit close to your Wi-Fi router.

  • Disconnect other devices using the same Wi-Fi network.

  • Restart the router once before the exam.

Close Background Applications

  • Exit all apps that consume the internet (Zoom, Teams, YouTube, Netflix, downloads, updates).

  • On Windows: Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc → open Task Manager → End tasks with high network usage.

  • On macOS: Open Activity Monitor → Network tab → Quit apps consuming high bandwidth.

Clear Browser Cache

  • Chrome/Edge: Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete → select “Cached images and files” → Clear.

  • Safari (Mac): Go to Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data → Remove All.

Disable VPN/Proxy

  • Turn off VPNs or proxies, as they reduce upload speed and may block face-detection streams.

Restart Device & Browser

  • Restart your computer before starting the exam.

  • Open only the exam tab in your browser (no additional tabs or windows).

Keep a Backup Network

  • Keep a mobile hotspot (4G/5G) as backup.

  • Test it in advance to ensure it meets the 2 MB upload speed requirement.

📝 Additional Notes / Troubleshooting Tips

  • Perform the compatibility check 15–20 minutes before the exam.

  • If the system camera works but your face is not detected, it is usually due to low upload speed or network instability.

  • Avoid public Wi-Fi or shared networks.

  • Fiber broadband or wired broadband gives the most reliable performance.
